SANTA TERESA DI GALLURA- PALAU- LA MADDALENA
The first stop is in Santa Teresa di Gallura with the Complesso di Lu Brandali: made up of a nuraghe (megalithic edifice) surrounded by a defence wall with turrets, consisting of the ruins of huts belonging to an ancient village, a giants' tomb and numerous graves. From the top of the nuraghe it is possible to enjoy a striking view, which extends from the Strait of Bonifacio to Asinara. Subsequently, in Palau, we will visit the Giants' Tombs of Li Mizzani. “Li Mizzani” is a fortress of prehistoric tombs. We will then head for wonderful Maddalena island, where we will visit the archaeological Lamboglia naval museum. The next stop will be Caprera, with its Garibaldi Museum, the famous "Casa bianca", today a museum open to the public where you can visit Giuseppe Garibaldi's tomb.
LURAS- CALANGIANUS-TEMPIO PAUSANIA –BORTIGIADAS
Our itinerary will leave from Lake Liscia: the stroll along the shores of the lake represents a good opportunity to admire nature rich in colours and a huge variety of endemic species, among which a wild olive tree more than 2000 years old. Following the road to Calangianus, we will walk up to the Li Conchi plateaus, at a height of more than 1000 m. This mountain is characterised by a dense forest of cork trees and holm-oaks where you will find numerous crystal-clear springs. From the municipality of Tempio Pausania, we will then head for Monte Limbara, characterised by granites that give rise to an uneven and jagged morphology. We will conclude our itinerary at the volta di Bortigiadas, more precisely at the “summit of Monte Salici” of great beauty with its lush vegetation that boasts sweeping views of the horizon.
AGLIENTU - SANTA TERESA GALLURA - PALAU - LA MADDALENA
The stretch of coast between Portobello and Santa Teresa Gallura will prove to be fascinating, especially with its wide vistas. To the south lies the port of Vignola, full of wonderful small beaches surrounded by lots of pine groves. Towards Santa Teresa you will find the large Cala Vall'Alta inlet, which features one of the northern coast's most beautiful beaches, i.e., the extensive and magnificent Rena Maiori. The nearby Monte Russu promontory allows to enjoy a wonderful panorama of the adjacent coasts. From Santa Teresa one of Sardinia's most famous sites can be reached within minutes, i.e., Capo Testa, named after the shape of the rounded promontory. From Capo d'Orso we proceed to Punta Sardegna, and subsequently access the viewpoint on foot via granite stairs. Through a path that winds along the rocks you can then walk down to the Cala di Trana beach. The last stop on our itinerary is the island of Caprera, famous for its ecological oases and declared a nature reserve. The island's fame is linked to Garibaldi, who, after having acquired part of it, spent the end of his life there in a cottage that, today, has become a kind of museum, the Garibaldino Compendium.
LUOGOSANTO-ARZACHENA-GOLFO ARANCI- OLBIA
Travelling on the main road to Palau, along the dirt road that runs near Monte Pulchiana, we cross a deserted landscape, immersed in huge green cork groves covered with pastures. At the centre of this spectacular area, on the steep side of Monte Casteddu, stands Luogosanto. We reach the small natural park of Fonte La Filetta, whose waters are famous for their low-mineral and diuretic properties. In Arzachena, we run into the famous mushroom-shaped rock, considered to be the symbol of the city called Roccia del Fungo. From Golfo Aranci we make a detour to Cala Moresca, a calcareous promontory covered with holm-oaks and junipers, on whose summit the abandoned lighthouse can be found from where it is possible to admire a wonderful panorama. From the beaches of Marinella we proceed towards Arzachena. At the stazzo Casagliana (farmhouse), on the right side of the road, at approximately 3 km after the junction for Porto Cervo, you can reach the Monte Cugnana summit on foot (approx. one hour of a rather difficult climb).
PALAU E ARCIPELAGO DELLA MADDALENA
The first stop of the excursion will be the port of the Madonna, also known as the natural pools after the colour and transparency of its waters. After lunch on board, facing the island's magnificent scenery, we will sail along the nearby island of Santa Maria, the Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach) and Roccia del Coccodrillo (Crocodile Rock); during this enjoyable journey we will hug the coasts of the island of Spargi and its striking coves: Connari Cove, Lovers' Cove, Granara Cove and Soraya Cove. We will then reach the wonderful Cala Corsara inlet where we will be able to admire the famous rocks: Testa della Strega (Witch's head), the Bulldog and miniature Italy. For trekking and hiking fans, Spargi is unique in its kind, characterised by naturalistic tracks and military blockhouses. We will then sail along the island of Santo Stefano, famous for Napoleon's battles. Having reached Maddalena for our last stop, you will be able to enjoy free time in the island's inhabited centre.
TEMPIO - AGGIUS
The first stop on this itinerary will be Nuraghe Maiori, located 2 km from the temple in Conca Marina. Subsequently we will stop in Nuraghe Izzana - the largest in Gallura - which is located in the Municipality of Aggius, in the Valle della Luna. Lastly, we will visit the "Olivia Carta Cannas” (Aggius) ethnographic museum, which hosts the Mostra permanente del tappeto Aggese (Permanent Exhibition of Aggese Rugs); a site dedicated to Gallura culture and traditions from 1600 to the present.
LURAS - CALANGIANUS
We will head for Luras, where we will visit the dolmen of Ladas, Ciuledda, Alzoledda and Bilella. Still in this small town we find the Gallura Ethnographic Museum, which faithfully re reconstructs the typical setting of Gallura society. The next stop is the Pascareddha Tomb of the Giants (Calangianus), surrounded by a cork tree grove with age-old trees on the edge of a valley crossed by the Liscia River. In the charming village of Calangianus we will visit the Cork Tree Museum, located in the centre of the village in a magnificent 18th century complex that includes the former Franciscan Friars Monastery and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli.
LUOGOSANTO-ARZACHENA-GOLFO ARANCI – OLBIA
Our first stop will be Luogosanto, where the Palazzo di Baldu is located, just a little over 2 km from the centre of Balajana. The second stop will be near the Li Muri Necropolis in Arzachena, bearing witness to the culture of the site, which is characterised by dolmen circles, unique in Sardinia. Subsequently we will travel to Golfo Aranci, where we will visit the Temple of Milis, marked by steep steps that slope down to a considerable depth, making the Temple a unique case among the holy wells currently known. Lastly we will stop in Olbia, where we will visit Sa Testa, a holy well among the most famous and best preserved in all of Sardinia
